Vision therapy services developed to provide children with a visual foundation for successful interaction with all aspects of life.
Vision therapy at Elemental Eyecare involves a committed program of 1 hour weekly sessions in the office with a therapist. In addition to in-office therapy, there is assigned home therapy. There is a progress report with Dr. Marshall approximately every 8-10 weeks to evaluate skill development and symptoms. Our vision therapy program focuses on full sensory-motor integration and training the eye skills to be more efficient and accurate. A typical treatment program lasts 5-8 months, but some can take more or less. Every child learns and develops at a different pace.
Our therapy is individualized based on the symptoms and deficiencies noted in the examination and developmental evaluation. Therapists will utilize a variety of tools and medical equipment like therapeutic lenses, prisms, filters, patches, electronic targets with timing mechanisms, balance boards, balance beams and rebounders. All of these activities, while fun for the children, are done in a safe, supervised environment. Our program is goal based and we are committed to improving every child's visual function and performance.
